When Tesla builds a car ...

Tesla Modell 3

50 companies from German-speaking countries, including 41 so-called "hidden champions". Around 3,000 of a total of around 9,000 components from German companies:

When Elon Musk has the Model 3 built in the Gigafactory in Grünheide near Berlin, he defines the highest standards of innovation and quality - and selects his suppliers precisely according to these principles.

Tesla actually keeps such information under lock and key - in an exclusive study, the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and the business magazine “Handelsblatt” have shed some light on the Tesla Model 3 and named a total of 29 suppliers, including the Bossard Group, which supply connection technology. But that's not all for KVT-Fastening / Bossard Germany and our associated BRUMA Competence Center (CoC) for drawing parts, as Managing Director Florian Beer states:

Florian Beer“Screws, bolts, nuts and self-clinching fasteners. Some of Tesla's other suppliers also rely on our products and our expertise in fastening and assembly technology.

Especially when it comes to branded products and special solutions, we are the reliable premium partner for you, in order to successfully meet the pressure to innovate and the high speed specified by Tesla ”.

The electric car pioneer from California wants to further expand its pioneering role in e-mobility and save energy and costs in production.

The study by FH and Handelsblatt also agrees with the credo that creativity, inventiveness on the one hand and high technical development competence and customer focus on the other hand are among the non-negotiable Tesla selection criteria for suppliers.

Matthias Volz, Head Product Management & Business Development, knows the special challenges that the future industry of e-mobility brings with it:

Matthias Volz

“For Tesla's suppliers, this is immense pressure and a huge opportunity at the same time, because in the end there are products that have no competition to fear in the market. It is significant that Tesla does not focus on costs on cheap parts, but on saving process time while increasing quality at the same time ”.

As a result, at Tesla, as with its suppliers, the work of the design engineers has a particularly high priority - and the question of the best possible fasteners and fasteners usually arises sooner than later when developing the products.

And exactly: here in the company there are the right experts who support you as partners in becoming a supplier at Tesla ... and staying.
