Cage nuts are clipped in place from the rear using pliers. The play between nut and cage permits a large tolerance take-up. In slots this can be extended as desired.

FASTEKS KLIPKO® Front-mounting cage nuts
A cage nut variation which is anchored from the front. In hollow profiles or bevelled sheets, it can be clipped in after painting quite easily with a screwdriver or a narrow strip of metal. It can be removed again and re-used at any time.
