BigHead Fasteners at the Core of Rimac Nevera's Durability

Nevera bighead

The Rimac Group, led by CEO Mate Rimac, is majority shareholder of Bugatti Rimac and the sole stakeholder of Rimac Technology. The Group brings together the most advanced hypercars in the world with a globally renowned team developing high performance electrification, autonomous and software solutions for the world’s largest OEMs. Rimac is based on the outskirts of Zagreb, Croatia, with locations around Europe, and currently employs more than 2,000 people. Rimac is best known for its flagship model, the Nevera, a highly advanced electric vehicle that boasts cutting-edge technology and unparalleled performance.

To ensure the highest standards of quality, Rimac uses bigHead mild-steel and stainless steel fasteners in their production process. The mild-steel fasteners are used for fixing: interior parts, control units, wiring harnesses, etc. and are mostly coated with zinc-lad 1000. This is a special black coating that will become one with the black carbon printing texture and will protect against red rust for at least 1,000 hours.

Meanwhile, the stainless steel fasteners provide excellent resistance to corrosion and rust, ensuring long-lasting performance in harsh environments. The use of these fasteners enhances the overall strength and durability of the vehicle, providing a secure and long-lasting hold for various components.

Using bigHead fasteners in the production process of Rimac Nevera offers several advantages:
  • Enhanced Strength: bigHead fasteners have a high tensile strength, making them ideal for securing heavy components in the vehicle.
  • Increased Durability: The special black zinc-lad 1000 coating on mild-steel fasteners provides protection against red rust for at least 1,000 hours, ensuring long-lasting performance.
  • Versatility: bigHead fasteners are available in a range of sizes and materials, providing the flexibility to match the specific requirements of different components.
  • Ease of Installation: The use of jigs allows easy and precise positioning of Bighead fasteners on the component.
  • Quality Guaranteed: bigHead is a trusted brand with a reputation for producing high-quality fasteners, providing assurance that the products used in Rimac Nevera are of the highest standard.

By using bigHead fasteners, Rimac is able to ensure that its vehicles are strong, durable, and built to last, making it a standout player in the high-performance electric vehicle market.

In the recently published video, bigHead fasteners are clearly seen in the production of Nevera.

BigHead - a reliable and efficient solution for composite materials

BigHead fasteners play a crucial role in the connection of composite materials in various industries, including the automotive sector. Composite materials, such as carbon fiber and fiberglass, are widely used in the construction of high-performance vehicles due to their light weight and strength. However, traditional fastening methods can weaken the composite structure, reducing its strength and durability.

BigHead fasteners provide a solution to this problem, with their unique design that ensures a secure and stable connection between the composite material and other components. The fasteners use a large head that distributes the load over a larger area, reducing stress on the composite structure. This results in a strong, durable bond that does not compromise the integrity of the composite material.

By using bigHead fasteners in the connection of composite materials, manufacturers can ensure that their vehicles are built to the highest standards of quality and reliability. The use of these fasteners reflects the commitment of companies like Rimac to producing vehicles that are both strong and lightweight, providing the perfect balance between performance and efficiency.

In conclusion, bigHead fasteners have proven to be a reliable and efficient solution for securing various components in the production of high-performance vehicles like the Rimac Nevera. The unique design, versatility, and quality of bigHead fasteners make them an ideal choice for industries that demand the highest standards of performance and durability.

Assembly Technology Expert – Expert Test Services & Expert Education

KVT-Fastening and Rimac worked together to find the best possible fastening solution for the Nevera through Expert Test Services. KVT-Fastening performed a range of tests, including tensile, torsion, and shear tests, to assess the strength and durability of fastening solutions with different adhesives to find the optimal solution for bonding the composite material and other components in the vehicle.
